From a Mother’s Kitchen to the World: The Journey of Thinai Organics

Thinai Organics, fondly known as “Ammavin Kadai” (Mother’s Shop), began with a simple mission — a mother’s desire to provide the best, healthiest food for her child. Today, it’s a trusted organic food brand with a global presence.

The Beginning

Saranya Rajendran, the founder, comes from a middle-class background. After securing a well-paying IT job, she improved her family’s lifestyle. But motherhood changed her priorities. Wanting only the purest food for her child, she turned to organic products. Friends noticed the change and began requesting her help in sourcing the same.

What started as a personal effort turned into something bigger. Thinai Organics was born — rooted in care, built on trust.

A Journey of Purpose

When Saranya’s second child was born prematurely, she believed organic food played a vital role in boosting immunity. The positive results further strengthened her belief, and more parents began seeking her advice.

Even while managing a full-time job and raising a family, she grew Thinai Organics step by step. During the COVID-19 pandemic, while many struggled, Saranya saw an opportunity. She launched her first offline and online stores, later expanding to Madipakkam and Pallikaranai.

Growing Beyond Borders

Today, Thinai Organics exports to over 20 countries, promoting traditional Indian nutrition worldwide. To scale further, Saranya partnered with FaMeTN (Facilitating MSMEs for Export from Tamil Nadu).

With FaMeTN’s support, she participated in IndusFood 2023, one of the largest international food exhibitions. The event gave her valuable exposure, connections, and insights into marketing, packaging, and global trade. She also joined the Entry India | Entry USA programme to explore the U.S. market.
